RE: New Eye - French Lavender - xSarahx Starlight - 06-13-2024 10:48 AM We have a top rangeeeee! French Lavender is recessive to Platinum RE: New Eye - French Lavender - Spyder Corvinus - 06-18-2024 12:01 PM So I got a cat in auction that hid french lavender. It was showing odyssey whisper. Its dad had french lavender mom had odyssey whisper. I paired it with a cat that my partner had that was solid at galaxy star.my partner worked on that line for a long time and is sure its solid and I came out with a kitty that had French lavender eyes. Based on this i believe french lavender is dominant to Galaxy star and being that french lavender was hiding behind odyssey whisper french lavender is recessive to odyssey whisper. Here is a gyazo of the pedigree RE: New Eye - French Lavender - Anara Heartsdale - 06-18-2024 01:09 PM Morella's siblings all show galaxy star. [attachment=5956] RE: New Eye - French Lavender - Ivy Norsk - 06-18-2024 09:22 PM I talked this one over with Eleanor. I can’t say it’s good. It *might* be true, but there can still be something that is lurking under the Galaxy Star that might be what pulled the French Lavender. As always, “solid” is not the same as “pure”, and I’m just not seeing the proof of purity in this. It may be that there’s more information out there, but let me explain my reasoning: Dionna is Grotto/x which might be GalStar (GS for short) or something more rec. Pylades is Grotto/y which might be GS or something more rec. Edit to add: To be clear either x or y IS Galaxy Star, but we don't know which one. Second generation: Jyl is Grotto hiding GS or x or y. Pierson is Grotto hiding GS or x or y. 3rd generation there are double recessive throws and the Grotto is lost. We have: Guiditta Galaxy Star hiding GS or x or y (where x & y are Either or Both GS, but might be a more rec eye). Franky Galaxy Star hiding GS or x or y (where x & y are Either or Both GS, but might be a more rec eye. 4th generation: Morella Galaxy Star hiding ? heck we don’t know. We really don’t. Could be Gal Star, could be X could still be Y. Edit to reiterate: Galaxy Star = x or y, but we don't know which one. It is asserted in Spyder's post that both x AND y are Galaxy Star but I don't think we know that with the information that we have. So with the list of siblings all showing Galaxy Star, they HAVE TO SHOW THE GALAXY STAR, because either the eye IS pure OR the eye hiding is more recessive and BY NECESSITY must hide under Galaxy Star. There’s no possible way for those siblings to deviate. But, try hitting those cats with an uber rec eye and you may find something. RE: New Eye - French Lavender - Arcadiamyst Resident - 06-19-2024 08:21 AM Genetic proofs are like Mathematical proofs, they must be 100% certain with no possibility of any other outcome. I agree with Ivy on this and what I would do is take that kitten and breed it to a very recessive eye and try and pull out the hider. It sure looks like it will be the French Lavender but it would prove it with 100% certainty What a beautiful kitten, love the lavender on the fog! RE: New Eye - French Lavender - Ivy Lane - 07-06-2024 02:32 PM think i have a Dominance proof will put it in chat as well as here ; it appears French Lavender is recessive to Ocean Mist : RE: New Eye - French Lavender - Eleanor8 Resident - 07-06-2024 05:12 PM French Lavender is dominant to Destiny Skyline. RE: New Eye - French Lavender - Eleanor8 Resident - 08-19-2024 06:39 PM French Lavender is recessive to RockAmethyst. RE: New Eye - French Lavender - Eleanor8 Resident - 09-25-2024 06:29 PM French Lavender is recessive to FlowerChild Groovy. This PLACES French Lavender as recessive to FlowerChild Groovy and dominant to Destiny Skyline. |
