It occurs to me that breedable traits don't necessarily have to be graphical. Animations could also be breedable.
For example:
Trait class: Activity level, with traits such as:
Sedentary .. the cat tends to sit and lay down a lot, and only walks slowly
Normal .. basically what we see now
Active .. the cat tends to walk more than sit and lay down
Frantic .. the cat tends to sit, but only for a moment, then gets up and runs around
Hyper .. the cat rarely sits, lays only to sleep, and runs around constantly
Trait class: Twitchy Ears
Three or four traits wiggling the ears around
Trait class: Twitchy Tail
A few classes controlling speed of movement and rotation of the tail prims.
Dunno if twitchy whiskers would be desirable It could be simply a two-value trait like pupils .. if it's expressed (the pure recessive) do a random vertical flip on the whisker texture, perhaps, to give it some movement.
