When I retrieve a cat through the dock, and I specify 2D, it is nevertheless retrieved as a 3D cat.

My guess would be the sim is either laggy or has a lot of web traffic. Try another Dock, and try a different sim.
It's impossible for a web browser to have anything to do with this. Your SL viewer could but that seems very unlikely.
Also, Edge and Chrome are basically the same thing, any more. Thankfully, the days of MS and IE are long gone.

We did test your issue but could not reproduce it at this time.
Possibly, the setting change failed to save to our database.
There are a few possible reasons for this.
For 2 of those, we now added an error warning to the retrieval page.
