How do you set the kitty so my partner can love and play with our kittys too?

Well he can left click on your kitties and choose "pet" and theres 3 petting animations he can use but the only other way is to give kitty to him so he can access the full menu.
Even if he keeps ownership you can still breed them together if both of you are present when partnering.
