She puts a pair in the parcel with range to In Parcel to prevent breeding accidents. One of the parcels is "bachelors" and another is "spinsters" to prevent accidental breeding, and the remainder of the sim is one large parcel where she can place cats for random pairings or by limit breeding by specifically setting partners. The advantage of the 4x4 parcels is she can change her mind right up to box production and no longer needs break-up juice to do so. The disadvantage is it requires a lot of space .. private sim owners have that .. but I'd guess most players dont.
ETA: Charms says small players could rent small stalls at a bunch of sims. That works but you have to remember all those sims! (She'd need dozens of stalls on different parcels or different sims and THAT would be unmanagable. )
Everyone got their own work-around for keeping accidental breedings to a minimum. But it's still just a work-around. The parcel idea is a pretty good one, I would just need two parcels, boys on one side and girls on the other. That way I can still line them up next to eachother with the parcel line dividing them. I might try that if the next update that's coming in a few days wont have the 0meter option, but I'm gonna remain positive that it's coming..

I like all those ideas, Rocky.
The auto-UUID naming is something I, personally, would probably change as soon as the box drops ... but I can see where it would be really useful. And the auto-pedigree deal would be brilliant.
On the breeding issue, I'd really like to see it where the cats can't breed unless they are paired or specifically instructed to seek a partner at random, but I suspect this is a wrinkle that the KittyCats folks threw in to keep us on our toes. This "feature" just bit me where it hurts today but I can't plead ignorance; I was just careless about how close a pair of kitties were, both in time and space, lol.

Totally agree with naming the boxes to their ID or show the given name in the pedigree!
I would also really like the option easily uncheck the shown boxes in the pedigree. To my knowledge you can now by checking either the males or the females but I want to see my birthed kitties without having to scroll down all the boxes all the time.

I still support this ideas. Is there anything else we can do besides posting/bumping/humping this thread? I often check my pedigree page through my mobile phone and i cannot tell you how annoying it is to scroll down aaaaaall the way down where the boxes are sitting to find my alive cats!

What I do when I haven't decided how to partner kitties is put them in the online cattery. There are no "breeding accidents" there. I know some people use the cattery differently and don't keep food there, however.
The ID/UUID thread is beyond my understanding i'm afraid
As for pedigree givers, I just saw one today by Taij (I think that's the correct first part of the name; it's the same person that made Schnurr's food &birth calculator) The way I understood it, you simply place the cat on the pedigree giver, which is a flower, and the script does the rest. No need to enter anything, and if the cat is at growing age, the flower grows as well. Would that help?
