The last few times she has fallen asleep, I have found my kitty sleeping in various places on the floor instead of jumping to her home chair like usual. Does anyone have any ideas why this could be happening and what I should do about it? Thanks for any input!
First thing to do is reset her home position just to make sure that isn't the issue. I have noticed that if the sim is laggy/there is a lag spike when the cats fall asleep they sometimes do not jump home. Just one of those glories of SL. So might make sure your sim is getting restarts often enough to keep the evil lag monsters away too.
I live on a mainland parcel so it's restarted every week. Your explanation makes sense to me, thank you! It may well be due to lag, especially since that happens at times on mainland. I will reset her home position as you suggested, thanks for your help. :-)
