So I threw a Destiny Rivers with a Surprise Sparkle just because and got this.



I'll pop and check hid of course and cross post to the other thread.

Grotto kitten was indeed hiding destiny rivers!

Winston is a grotto eyed cat his parents are a grotto and a Destiny Rivers
He is bred to an Exotic Journey cat and the baby has Destiny Rivers so Winston hides Destiny Rivers as Exotic Journey is already proven recessive to both Grotto and Destiny Rivers.

I had a surprise kitty today, and was amazed the Exotic Breeze came out of nowhere, and wanted to show proof. See proofs below:

As you can see there is no EB showing anywhere, but I think it came from dad's side but not too sure.


Am to assume Exotic Breeze is recessive to Destiny Rivers?

You've done it! You've placed Destiny Rivers!
The Exotic Breeze had to be hiding underneath and came out from under. I'm not sure where it came from; the proof shows that neither side is pure Destiny Rivers and both sides had Ex Breeze or better lurking underneath, but the fact that Destiny Rivers is on both sides of the tree and the Ex Breeze HAD to be Hiding proves it.

Vada had to hide the exotic breeze, she passed it to Oberon under his sunflower then both Vada and Oberon passed it into this baby via the backbreed, meaning its actually pure as well as proof.
Best guess at origin would be Vadas grandmother Claret, if you could see further back in her pedigree thats probably where it came from.

Thanks everyone. It's funny how these surprise kitties come out. I really wanted Destiny Rivers and BAMM EB comes out. Thanks Arwen for the input, bc it was really hard to figure out where the EB came from.

I totally whiffed on the fact that two of the cats were the same cat, Vada, and that I was looking at a backbreed.

That was a good one, I had to stare at it for ages to try and figure out where it was coming from, do love to solve a puzzle. The puzzles are the best part of breeding I think and coverboy has solved the Destiny Rivers one for us just leaving 2 eyes unplaced going into the Fall Collections. Awesome timing.
