well I have a few kittycats that turned 1 day old today.. at around 7:00pm SLT. as I write this it is around 10:30 pm SLT.
noticed my cats have not grown after reaching 1 day old..
but I have chat open often and did hear about putting cats in low prim - image and back out of it.. to have them grow. so that is what I did and immediately they changed size.
note the SIM I am on is a linden labs premium homes SIM only 3 other avatars were around on the SIM.. detected no lag.
at about 7:10 pm SLT my cats turned 1 day old...
I waited until 10:06 pm SLT time try the low prim back to 3D cat to have growth change show.

not really a major problem as probably eventually they would change in size... and putting them from 3D - to low prim and back to 3D solved the issue - I just wanted to share the information.
