Hello! I'm new to The KittyCats breeding.....I was wondering...I see lots of Kitties that have "4T or 6T".....What does that mean? I think it has something to do with the number of traits a Kitty has, but how do you tell?

Cheers!

May I ask what are the 9 traits?

Ok I bred my First kitten, and it was a Pandie. But the kitten that was boxed is Different that the one that was "Born"? Any Ideas?

Cheers!

Each kitty can have up to 9 traits. Traits counted are anything not genesis, and eye traits are Mysterious and Small. All starter kitties have genesis traits, and hidden traits. Those hidden traits can be new traits (as with any of the holiday starters) or they could be traits already discovered.

I suggest making yourself familiar with the Saga Charts...they list the traits in order from Dominante to Recessive.

You can also go to the Manual tab at the top of the page and it will answer many questions on breeding and traits as well.

Welcome to KittyCats....your new addiction Big Grin
Omgosh! Thank-you very much for taking the time to explain that to me. I have been scratching my head about it and knit-picking though the website trying to figure it out. I will check that website out!

Again Thank-you,

A trait is a distinquishing characteristic or quality.

Blue eyes, a plush tail, etc.

We start with a base cat, with base traits.

Base traits are not countable as GOOD traits.

Even though base traits actually look pretty good on a cat.

But when people are talking about counting traits,

they are talking about the 'good traits' and not the starters base traits.

Lets look at the base traits.

By the time you are done reading this,

you will have repeated everything so many times,

you will have a good idea of whats what later on.

1)Fur: Genesis. Any fur with genesis in the title, does not count as a good trait.

2)Eyes: Genesis. Any eye with genesis in the title, does not count as a good trait
.
3) Shape: Curious. Curious eye shape is not a countable good trait.

4)Pupil: big. Big pupil is not a countable good trait.

5)Shade: Natural. A natural shade is not a countable good trait.

6)Tail: Genesis. Any tail with genesis in the title is not a countable trait.

7)Ears: Genesis. Any ear with genesis in the title is not a countable trait.

8)Whiskers: Silver. The whisker color of silver is not a countable trait.

9) Shape: Guitar. The whisker shape of guitar is not a countable trait.

COUNT EVERYTHING ELSE!

No, fancy sizes are not countable traits either,

but you will find size variants give you more bang for your buck,

than most of the countable traits out there.

Once you get the basic idea, counting traits is easy.

And you currently cannot get higher than a 9 trait cat.

What you will also discover, is that you dont need a

NINE TRAIT KITTEH,

to have a cool looking cat!

I tend to really, really, really dislike the SHADE trait,

but the trait enthusiasts just GOTTA HAVE EM'

Welcome to the KittyCats community!

ENJOY EM!
Lovely! Thank-you Winter!
I'm not all that fond of the shade trait either.
I didn't like shade, but then came round to like porcelain and flair on certain furs. I like glitter on my aby cinnamons. But then lately, I've been struck by how "clean" certain cats looked and checked and lo... it was because their shade was Natural.
Also, http://kittycats.slnetworking.net/index.php this counts traits for you until you learn.
