If kittens are partnered while still too young to breed, do they consume more food?
no they do not consume more food until they hit 7 days and start to build love

the thing to watch, though, is if you are doing "one-time" partnering instead of automatic repartner, after 11 days, the partnership will automatically dissolve so I would suggest not partnering early until they are at 6 days

also I would suggest to always do one-time partnering and repartner after each baby. If you do the automatic repartner, and you change your mind and decide to partner to different partners or menagerie one kitty, you will have to wait the 11 days or buy the potion to break them up which is a tad expensive.
Thank you, Kayla.

Kittens with breed on DO eat double (as in the same amount of food as breeding cats with breed turned on) even from day 0 to day 7.

Hi Ellen,
a cat don't eat more food if is partnered, but the amount of food that your cat eats depends on whether or not the cat is breeding.

A breeding cat will eat a food's bowl in 28 days. A non breeding cat will eat half, so a bowl will last 56 days.

The only thing partnering does is ensure two cats will only breed with each other. It has no effect on food consumption, Love gain, or anything else.

Partnering is not necessary unless you need to ensure that two cats only breed with each other. The exception is the Cattery; any cats you want to mate in the Cattery must be partnered. A cat cannot breed with a cat you don't own unless both owners approve a partnership. So no need to worry about keeping company with cats you don't own!

Use one-time partnering. Auto-repartnering is a bad idea for the new breeder, because inevitably you'll change your mind and want to break it. One-time partnering breaks as soon as the kitten box is produced, leaving you free to choose another mate the next time.
Thank you!
It does seem that way!

breed on and breed off has nothing to do with partnering -- there is a breed/pet button. This can get confusing because it is both button and age-dependent.

if you have it on breed and if the cat is between 7-120 days the cat will eat double the amount that a 0-6 day-olds will eat and can have babies -- the default is breed on. If you change it to pet, then the cat will not be able to have babies but will eat 1/2 the amountof the 7-120 day-old cats. Between age 0-6 days and after 120 days, the kitten will automatically be on pet and cannot have babies and will eat 1/2.

so more simply breed on gives you the option of having babies but they eat more
breed off aka pet means no babies but they eat less
Breed can be turned off on a newborn cat, with breed turned off, that kitten (from 0 day on) will eat half what a cat with breed on eats (including a cat that is 0 day and up to 7), which implies a kitten (0 to 7 days) with breed on will eat the same amount as any breeding adult cat.
