Is there a kit or template set for making your own vest for your cats or making vest for sale?
Nope, not as today at least !

KittyCatS is a very G/PG kind of company. And they like to control their brand.
SL is SL. And SL is very famous, well Infamous for... well you know. And any unfiltered perusal of the marketplace will show you a number of tee shirts - tee shirts made with easy templates.
Now combine that with the words "MegaPuss" and "Pussy".

This is why we can't have nice things.
You could have those things written on a KC collar or hat as well,
yet we do have collars & hats kits.

I don't think one second that's the reason why they haven't made
vests or shirts custom kits available, but only the Dev Team could
answer that question, I guess.

What you say is perfectly true about hats and collars.

And yet... I still think there is something in what I say. Not just about smuttiness on a tee shirt (which is a format lending itself to sayings and logos), but also about controlling the brand.
Still, it is as you say, only the dev team could answer that question, and I don't expect that they will.
It may be that they prefer that door to stay shut for a variety of reasons, that is, there's a genii bottle there, that once opened, they can't stuff it back in again. (Or maybe they could, but they just don't need to go there.)
I like the idea of vest kits. The possibilities of clothing creators being able to make matching clothes for your avatar and kitty is really tempting. The ideas are pretty endless. There will always be someone around to ruin things for others. You simply can't let those people dictate how you do things. I think vest kits might be a bigger seller than even the collars, but I could be wrong about that.
I would vote for kittyvest or kittyshirt or kittydress or kittypants kits. l

I think they might not have made those kits due to concerns about complaints. Raise your hands if your first collar or caps didn't work out because they had to be adjusted and you couldn't see the need for adjustment until after you applied the texture. So you ate the cost of the collar/cap and tried again? And collars and caps are going to be cheaper than clothing items which will be bigger and maybe alos a tad more complicated so your rejcts may go up 2x to 4x until you finally get it right. I think about that and think people will complain about their financial loss instead of thinking of instruction costs and part of hte learning curve. KC might not want to deal ith those complaints.
Just being a clothing designer myself and mainly cheerleader items. I would just love to create a line of cheer clothes for the cats that we all love of your favorite NFL, NBA and NCAA teams.
