Expected prior behavior, 1.43 and earlier:
Rezz live cat, Set Range. If you want to now change the Range again, or move/edit the cat and check the Range, you can do this unlimited times.
Present 1.44 update behavior:
Rezz live cat, Set Range. Any further attempts to set range, or check range or change range generates this error message in local: Could not find object 'KittyCatS Range'.
This means adjusting position and resetting Home, and then checking Range, or trying to change the Range (preset or Custom) will fail after the first Set.
Workaround is to reload the script by using Prim to make a 2D cat and back, or if a 2D cat already, pressing 2D cat again, which reloads the cat from the server. Also taking cat back to inventory and re-rezzing it will reset Range script.
If you are adjusting Range this workaround adds extra steps to a prior simple procedure.
I have both 1.43 and 1.44 live cats next to each other - to demonstrate this new 1.44 bug vs 1.43.

New test - 1.44 live cats and boxes that have the range bug when updated In-World, can be fixed by passing them to the Cattery and back, using the new 1.44 Cattery Dock.
So basically, the in-world 1.44 Updater object (the can) produces an updated cat with the Range setting script bug. The auto 1.44 update when transferring a cat back to In-World from the Cattery does
not have the Range bug.
If you have boxes or live cats you need to run them all through the Cattery and back to properly update them to 1.44 and fix this Range bug.
Needless to say, for those of us that breed and keep In World cats and would like to have 1.44 updated cats and boxes before selling, this is a major PITA workaround!

Since KC has not acknowledged this bug here, I will also file a ticket about it.
Thanks for this information. I noticed a couple of range oddities the other day and thought I was just being a derp. I'll keep this in mind now. :-)

This was an early bug in the inworld updater, but it appears KC has fixed it now.
You will need to get another 1.44 Updater at the Main KC store. The early ones they sent you had the bug.
There is no difference in the version numbers. I suggest you get a new one, and delete any older ones.
I tested more cats with my original 1.44 updater and the problem was still there. But a 1.44 Updater from the KC store, when used to update an older version cat/box, has the range circle visible after the first setting now.
KC replied to my ticket as follows. From testing however, the 1.44 "store" update appears to have fixed the range circle display problem.
Quote:The error regarding the missing "KittyCatS Range" object is only a display issue. The red dots which appear when you set the range can only show once, the range itself can be changed multiple times.
Only cats (and their future offspring) that were updated in the first few hours after the release have this problem.
At this point we don't plan to fix it as its a non critical error, but as soon as we require a version 1.45 for other reasons we will make that updater available in the store.

Your KittyCatS Team.
