If you can't or don't want to purchase the get well medicine for the cats is it true that by waiting 7 days they will automatically heal? And if so, is there a way to know when the 7 days are up?

Yes, they recover when they get food again for 7 days, so you don't need to get the "get well drink". We will include the days they need to be ok again in the next update, at the moment you don't see it sorry.
