Maybe people already know but I'd like to narrow down the recessiveness of

Australian Mist -- Lilac Marble


Saga's list says that it is known to be dom to Ocicat Lavender

I have one that hints that it is recessive to Bengal Black (see below) but is not proof positive as I have not had a child yet to find out if Bengal Black is hidden.

Anyone else already narrow it down?

The pedigree you posted does not indicate that Australian Mist - Lilac Marble is recessive to Bengal Black, it's dominant to that fur. I am not sure where it's located specifically on the charts, yet, but hopefully some other wonderful breeders will post evidence for us to help find out.

You are so right Illuminatra! I wrote it backwards. (I also get right and left mixed up when I talk/write but I actually turn in the correct direction when pointing and driving).

Here is what Saga wrote " Australian Mist - Lilac Marble is recessive to Ocicat Lavender - more info please."

And I was thinking somewhere between Bengal (if something else is not hid behind Bengal) and Ocicat. So wanted to narrow it down. There are about 50 furs between those 2. I am not sure about the Bengal Black being hid because it is possible there is a Foxie s&p behind the Bengal because a lot of people used foxie to get Bengal out when it was first discovered.

I am a little shocked that no other pedigrees have been submitted, yet.

Here's one for you. The parents of this kitty have been partnered for 5 offspring and 4 out of 5 children were Australian Mist - Lilac Marble. The most recent offspring was a Balinese - Blue Lynx. So with 4/5 offspring showing Australian Mist - Lilac Marble, I think it's safe to say that it is dominant to Balinese - Blue Lynx.

In my aussies, sometimes the bengal black has passed. Not always its usually just really random and rare but i think it's more dom. I have mated it with pandie ebony and ivory's and have gotten australian mist lilacs about 50/50. I also seem to always get it when i mate it with a bengal black but when i mate iwth a foxie s and p i usually get a foxie salty for some reason, maybe my foxies are hiding blakc bengals. Let me show you soem screenshots. One pair actually gave me a bengal black yesterday. I also did send saga some of these in world, If he/she got them I have no idea, i submitted weeks ago.

As you can see I have been breeding a ton of these. Every now and then a black bengal will pop out. I also had a snow cream pop out too. I am now trying to get my lines unmixed so maybe I won't have so many "hidden" furs lol

Looking over the screencaptures, I would say that most of them are indicative of Australian Mist Lilac being dominant to bengal black, with the usual (1 in 4 chance) of both recessives being tossed to show the hidden fur.

The most interesting screen shot you posted, I thought, was this one:



(I would love it if the grandparents' names weren't cut off, because it would make them easier to talk about.)
A lot comes down to what are the grandparents' hidden furs. I would love to know what Luna's hidden fur is. Luna's father is Chateau Cream&White #2, which is one of those problematic furs on Saga's charts. (Which might be why Charles or Wendi haven't gotten back to you?) Charles and Wendi have a note saying that the Cream&W #2 and Cream&W #1 may have gotten confused on the old chart and they would like more info on these furs to straighten things out. [I realize that you, Dreampoetz, may know all this, but for other people reading - hey send in your Chateau Cream & White information!]
Bottom line: there isn't enough information on this chart to say anything definitely about placement of Aussie Lilac, But, you may have honed in on a key area. You say something else in your post:

That would be representative of a situation where Pandi Ebony and Ivory is dominant to Aussie Lilac but the hidden fur is recessive to Aussie Lilac. (I'm assuming that the other 50 is Ebony and Ivory. If it isn't what is it?)
Congratuations you may have narrowed down the Upper Limit for investigation! But really without more screen shots of this particular line and without knowing Luna's hidden fur for certain (is it Chat Cream&White #2 or is it better?), we really can't say yet what's going on here.

Edited: Correction - pfft on me. Charles and Wendi already have proof that Aussie Lilac is recessive to Ocilavender... so ignore everything I said about Upper limits. For some reason I remembered it as being dominant to OciLavender. We still need to know about those hidden furs though.

Hello, I have proof here that Aussie Mist Lilac Marble is dominant to Chateau Cream & White No.2. This cat is also related to Dreampoetz above cats, which shows Luna hides Cream & White No.2 which has indeed pulled the Lilac Marble. Which would put this fur in between Ocicat Lavender and Chateau Cream & White No.2, sitting somewhere with Cream Tabby & Bengal Tawny.

This is awesome. You guys rock. We narrowed it down quite a bit. From 50 kitty spread to more like 4. With Astrid's Lilac throwing it's own hid Chateau Cream & White No.2., the Lilac has to be somewhere between here

*** Chateau Cream & White 1 and Chateau Cream & White 2: we've seen some proofs that indicate that these 2 furs are not in their correct positions - it's possible they were confused (e.g. 1 vs 2) back when they were put into the charts... if you have any proofs of anything with these 2 furs, please let us know! So far: Chat CreamWhite1 between Ocicat Lavender & Bengal Copper; ChatCreamWhite2 recessive to Chat Black&White3 and also recessive to Chat CreamWhite1.)

That was the thing I worried about - whether Luna hid the Chateau Cream&W 2 or Something Better. Very good to know it is the Chateau Cream&White 2.
