Seem to have come from nowhere, is this unusual ?

Hello Zen,

No this isn't unusual.
Sooty and Sweep either both carry Wild Tiger ears, or one of them does and the other carries an ear more recessive to Tiger, which will now be the offspring's hidden ear.
Even if you can't see it in either's pedigree, a trait can pass but remain hidden for several generations.

Well yes this is true and i can understand how this could be a bit confusing.

One or both of your kitties have at least one Menagerie Tiger Starter in their ancestry.
