yes it say 120. Do I have to wait until Kitty is that old before I use it.

No, you can use it right now
Please rez the bottle and the kitten next to each other, then click the bottle, a pop up menu should appear on your screen with a question, click yes. You will get a message confirming your kitten is now a permanent pet, no more kibbles needed.
You can attach, cuddle, walk or take her in inventory, she won't get sick or hungry.
Any other question, just ask

I put the jar next to Kitty and it gave me an error message stating my kitty was too young and to select one which is 120 days old

What does that mean?

ok, I just checked the manual, seems you got the wrong bottle. You need the other one with no "120" on it if you wanna permapet her now.

Perhaps you can write a ticket first explaining you accidently bought the wrong Permapet.
Perhaps they are willing to exchange it if you pay the difference.
The regular Permapet is 1800L while the other you initially bought by mistake is 1500L
