I know suggesting to adopt colored furs in the Starters is a super sensitive almost dangerous topic to start with -.-
A colored fur is loved by some though; special friends for the chateau Pink.
I'd like to suggest special starters with the possibility that they hold a colored fur besides the normal furs and traits which otherwise would have been released.
This to avoid people get colored cats who do not aim for them and still give lovers of colored furs the chance to breed with the same chances to have the new regular genes.
A sort of Fancie kitty line but in this case for furs a seperate type of starter.

This more as a solution in between because I think KC has quite some funky genes in the regular starters a colored fur would be perfectly suitable in my opinion.
To name a few: Vampire, Fox and Tiger Ears Ody Eyes in general, Pink and Purple Eyes, chop chop and other short tails, super duper fantasy whiskers not to mention shades, Foxes, Panda's and whatnot.
These traits would be a perfect match to mix and match with colored furs.
And I think not all traits and furs are loved by everyone why it is so cool we have so many traits to pick from
The Soft Curl was my nahh not so much ear still I see it as a challenge to make it work should I get it from my starter.

EDIT I think most think the fur is the most prominent part of the kitty and therefore it should be natural looking.
I strongly disagree with that though; everything that takes place in the kitty's face is most prominent in my opinion.
This is not only the fur paiting in the kitty face but most definately also the Ears, Eyes and Whiskers.
I think it distracts even from the body and tail.

I agree that we could have some more colored cats. Since we have pink chat which is very popular, a purple or turquoise one could be added the line. However, I don't agree it has to be seperated from regular starters. If a person doesn't like colors and ends up with a starter who births a hidden color, the person could sell it or trade it. I would, for one, be happy to trade a starter that had a hidden regular color cat for a hidden color cat (especially if that color is purple).

There is space in kittycats, I think, to have a small line of color cats and still keep 95% more or less realistic. People like colors. I got a disco menagerie tiger which is not realistic in any sense (although I was said to find out it did not have special eye, tail or ears. I was expecting tiger curl tail, wild tiger ears and a special disco color eyes so was disappointed that the special items only passed with the regular colored tiger menagerie cats).

In fact I agree with you.
But there have been discussions about colored cats in which people are so against it and don't want starters which possibly hide colored cats.
I think though it is possible for everyone to receive traits they don't like as it currently is already so I thought there could be place for colored cats in the regular starters as well.
But since there is strong recentment against colored furs, why we might not have them today, I thought maybe it could be a solution to seperate starters that way so the colored fur fans can also have their joy.

I didn't realize people were against color to that extent. However, I still hold to the standard that they can trade or sell. They are probably in the minority (and they may also be people who want to keep the price of pink chats up since that is the only nonreal color cat so if no other nonreal color cat is introduced, it keeps the pink chats price higher for those who want a special cat). That same minority would probably kill for a fancie cat if someone offered one to them. It is unfair to punish one minority (the ones who want a few more color cats) because of another's minority desires (the few that want only realistic cats even though they may be vocal).

I actually wonder if the no color rule has more to do with Kittycats decisions as they may want to keep color cats only for the special cats they sell several times a year. There can't be any real objections to color if people line up to buy the color cats even if they don't pass. I don't like getting starter cats any more due to dealing with the genesis traits during breeding -- so hard to get rid of (although this year's genesis furs are so cute with the little hearts and socks so I make exception for the furs this year). However, the flower and shower cats were so colorful and beautiful, of course, I jumped at the chance to get them even though I know they are genesis underneath. The birthday cats are colorful and tons of people searched for them. I realize that all those cats have genesis underneath but since people are getting them, it is pretty obvious that people like color. Kittycats may be choosing not to do color because they want more people to buy (or hunt for ) specials as right now it is the only way to get color. It shows how desperate we are for color because we buy it even knowing it won't pass. This alone shows the majority like a little fantasy color.

Why can't we just have options on all ends of the spectrum to compliment everyone's catteries and choose to breed out what we like? Is this really so hard? Imo KittyCatS should do this; we haven't had any new menagerie tigers in over a year or so?, no new FancieCat discoveries since 2012, and no new breeds since the Pandie over a year ago..this would be a perfect opportunity to rock the boat a bit and get people excited with a fantasy fur breed.

Amen!, colors are fun, playful and attractive I think.
Not to mention, if the wish for colored cats alone isn't enough reason to do it, I am positive a whole new type of people will be attracted to breed KC's teens are merged with the main grid as well for example.
When I was new in 2011 I saw a pink chateau on a bidboard she had prism eyes and I was madly in love.
This cat was the first one which teased a lot of money out of my pocket while I was no spender yet.
I had to battle for her because many many people hawked her.
It is just so cute such realistic kitty in movement and all in Pink it really touched me.
I joined KittyCatS! During the RFL Seasons of Hope special and I loved loved loved loved them in their colorful vibrance and still do.
I was increadibly disappointed I could not breed them together and get a baby Seasons of Hope kitten.
For this it took longer to get really attached to KittyCatS!
I wanted colored cats so bad.
I think the hardest unrealistic part which took two years to grow on me were shades and still I use them carefully just so lines don't get effected by shades I want to keep as pets.
Thank God for the most recessive Blush we can barely see that is the way to get rit of prominent shades if we don't want them.
But especially Illume and Glitter were just shocking to me as Kitty noob and long after.
Just as the Fire and Rain, Passion, Fire, Key Lime, Purple Rain and Midnight Sky those eyes freaked me out while I adore them today.
The Chateau Pink was never subject to this I loved that kitty right away.

From what I've gathered, there's one particular dev who would rather there not be any cats with fantasy fur outside of holiday kitties and FancieCatS.. I think that their opinion has more to do with the preference for natural-looking fur variants.

I´d really love to have colourful kitties like the normal ones instead of being limited editions. Pinks, turquoises, greens, combined colours, there is unlimited combinations.... and if you want some ideas look the Fennux. They have beautiful coloured coats!!!

I so want to be able to breed different fantasy colored cats. Pandies, Foxies those aren't real breeds yet people love them. The biggest thing complaint I hear about the Pink Chateaus (which chateau isn't a real breed either) is that they don't like pink they would prefer blue, purple, teal, yellow or some other color.

I don't agree to separate them because I think they should be in the same gene pool with all the other traits realistic or fantasy. I would hate to buy "colored/fantasy starters" only to end up with a normal every day fur I wouldn't feel that way if they were in the same starters and it was all just a random mix.

That would be totally ideal and frankly I'd like it best if they were in the "normal" starters
I thought a solution in between was needed for KC to consider this but it would obviously not so convenient.
