So I got a kitten with a "random" flash shade

Fur: Maine Coon - Plush Calico
Eyes: Light Wash (Curious|Big)
Shade: Flash
Tail: Mysterious
Ears: Genesis
Whiskers: Silver (Mysterious)

My question is, does this mean that BOTH parents hide the Flash shade?

Dad's Grandma was a Cookie Cat, so that's where this shade come form (right?)
It just means that at least 1 (could be both, hard to know without going farther back in the pedi) hides flash as the other may or may hide flash or blush.
Both shades are more recessive than twinkle and therefore can hide behind the parent/grandparents shades.
Yes. One parent definitely hides exactly Flash.

The other hides either Flash or Blush, and nothing else (that we know of .. always a chance of a new, undiscovered, more-recessive trait, of course).

A quick check of the ancestors will often tell you which, and if Blush is even possible. The Who-discovered-what-when listing on the Forums here can help with that .. if you don't have ancestor-starters after the discovery date for Blush, it's almost certainly NOT there.
