Tad Wrote:'chocked full' really is little more than an indication. it may be a strong indication, but its not proof.
based on this, all we can say is either Malachite is dominant to Crystal Sea, or it is dominant to something recessive to Crystal Sea.

Tad, Reven never said she was posting a proof. She was displaying the cat she was setting up to breed.
I think the situation reflects a growing trend to post pedigrees on the forum that aren't proofs. They are popping up in a lot of threads. Why is this happening? Well, for one, people like to show off their cats with motherly/fatherly pride, but also I think it's because people (mainly serious breeders who know when a proof is a proof) are trying to cooperate with the rest of the community to divide the work of getting the charts up to date. I know there have been at least two instances this spring where I opened kittens for testing and then someone else got the proof faster, or the dominance had already been proved but wasn't up on the charts yet.

It does seem like the Saga people are starting to demand 2 proofs for everything; so the effort isn't wasted, but it also means that there is a lag before the charts are updated and people are depending more and more on the forum threads for the quickest information. I do find it a bit confusing to see a pedigree and then say, "oh, that's not a proof - its a display" and perhaps it may confuse newer breeders (and we seem to have gotten some on the forum with the new SLB13 cats) as to what constitutes a proof.
Perhaps clearer labeling? Reven was clear in her description. Some people aren't. And some people may not realize if they have proof or not.
